The goal of this program is to provide diagnosis and treatment to persons with intellectual disabilities and behavioral or psychiatric disorders. Program components include: responsive treatment by a multidisciplinary clinical team; assessment and stabilization of acute psychiatric conditions; medication consultation and monitoring; psychological and neuropsychological testing; individualized behavioral treatment; individual, group and family therapies; and regular consultation/coordination with outpatient service providers.

Developmental DisabilitiesIntellectual disability services for adults are available at Arbour-Fuller Hospital. Arbour-Fuller’s unit is a collaborative program with South Shore Mental Health and the Department of Developmental Services.

All referrers will be requested to complete a Patient Referral Form. The completed form must be faxed to the Intellectual Disabilities team at 508-838-2228 – this will be reviewed within 24 hours of receipt (business days only). The referral source will be notified if the patient will be admitted or placed on a waiting list. Projected bed availability will be identified at that time.
