AHS Patient Guide to Partial Hospitalization

Arbour Health System offers partial hospitalization programs (PHP) for patients as part of the treatment continuum. These programs offer a safe, structured environment while enabling the patient to return home at night and maintain important family and community relationships. Partial hospitalization may be appropriate for patients making the transition from inpatient to outpatient treatment, or as a program alternative for patients who do not present any danger to themselves or others but need a structured treatment plan and environment. Family and support person involvement is a crucial part of the treatment process; since the patient returns home each night it is important that family members and support persons are involved in the therapeutic process.

Adult Psychiatric Partial Hospitalization Program

This program is available at: Arbour Hospital, Arbour-Fuller Hospital, Arbour-HRI Hospital, Pembroke Hospital, Westwood Lodge, Lowell Treatment Center, and Arbour Counseling Services (Fall River, Haverhill, Norwell, and Woburn sites)

Adult Dual Diagnosis Partial Hospitalization Program

Adolescent Psychiatric Partial Hospitalization Program

To refer a patient to partial hospitalization, you may obtain prior approval from the patient’s insurance company before contacting Intake, or we can do an on-site evaluation and contact the insurance company with information needed for authorization.
