Substance Abuse TreatmentThe substance abuse treatment programs at Arbour Health System provide a safe, therapeutic environment to facilitate positive growth and change in the lives of clients suffering with substance abuse and addictions.

Running Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. the adult programs aim to give participants a heightened level of self-awareness about their addiction, solid relapse prevention skills and a variety of coping skills to help them become more independent, self-caring, and functioning adults in recovery.

Arbour Counseling Services, Norwell also offers SOAP for adolescents, running M-F 4:30-7 p.m.

Program services include psychosocial evaluation, monitoring and treatment; behavioral assessment, treatment and recovery planning; group and individual counseling on substance abuse topics; aftercare and discharge planning and family therapy when necessary.

Staff includes a physician specializing in substance recovery available to patients if needed, as well as a nurse practitioner who specializes in addiction treatment.

Structured Outpatient Addictions Programs (SOAP) and Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient Programs (SA/IOP) are available at Arbour Counseling Services (ACS) sites in Malden, Norwell and Woburn.
