Arbour-HRI Hospital Adds Additional
Therapies to its Spectrum of Services
Recently, Arbour-HRI Hospital has expanded its spectrum of inpatient
services by adding art therapy, occupational therapy and animal-assisted
therapy and promoted music therapy in its treatment plans for hospital
residents.
Katie Sorbo has been hired to run the art therapy program. Sorbo has an
MS in Art Therapy and Counseling. She runs her groups one day a week.
Carol Johnson was hired to run the occupational therapy groups. She
works with clients on ADL, coping skills and sensory perception one day
a week. The music therapy is run by current staff members three days a
week, and Caring Canines comes on the weekends with two dogs to spend
time with the patients. All four therapies occur on all inpatient units.
